This gum tree along with 12 other trees were removed under the 10/50 rule in Beacon Hill. The 10/50 rule allows for the removal of trees where the property is in a designated bush fire zone. Whole trees may be removed from the bush area if they are within 10 metres of the home, and underlying bush may be cleared if within 50 metres of the home.
